Analysis Profile

Mesomorphs are naturally muscular with a medium-to-large bone structure. You have an inverted triangle shape, meaning your chest/shoulders are broader than your waist and hips.

Waist-to-Hip Ratio (WHR) 0.87
Body Mass Index (BMI) 24.5
Provided by DigitalCalculator.co.in. Somatotypes are a generalized fitness classification system. Results are mathematical estimates based on skeletal and mass ratios.

Discover Your True Biological Blueprint

Stop following generic fitness and fashion advice. Our Body Type Calculator analyzes your bone structure, body mass, and circumference ratios to give you a complete picture of your Somatotype, Bone Frame, and Physical Archetype.

What is a Somatotype?

Developed in the 1940s, the Somatotype system categorizes human physiques into three distinct genetic profiles that dictate how your body responds to food and exercise:

  • Ectomorph: Naturally lean and long. Ectomorphs have a fast metabolism, small bone structure (wrists/ankles), and find it difficult to gain both fat and muscle mass.
  • Mesomorph: Naturally athletic and muscular. Mesomorphs have a medium to large bone structure and gain muscle easily.
  • Endomorph: Naturally broad and solid. Endomorphs have a slower metabolism, large bone structure, and gain both muscle and fat easily.

How We Calculate Frame Size

Bone frame size is a critical component of calculating your ideal body weight. It is determined by the ratio of your height to your wrist circumference (r = Height / Wrist). Our algorithm adjusts these thresholds based on gender:

Men (Ratio)
  • Small: > 10.4
  • Medium: 9.6 – 10.4
  • Large: < 9.6
Women (Ratio)
  • Small: > 11.0
  • Medium: 10.1 – 11.0
  • Large: < 10.1

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can my Somatotype change?
No, your underlying bone structure and genetic predisposition (your true somatotype) do not change. However, through diet and exercise, an Endomorph can become extremely lean, and an Ectomorph can build significant muscle, effectively changing their visual body shape.
2. What does Waist-to-Hip Ratio (WHR) indicate?
WHR is a primary indicator of health risk. Storing excess fat around the waist (visceral fat) carries a higher risk of cardiovascular disease than storing fat in the hips. A WHR under 0.85 for women and under 0.95 for men is considered low risk.
3. How is Visual Body Shape calculated?
We use standard fashion industry algorithms comparing your Chest/Bust, Waist, and Hip measurements. For example, if your hips are significantly wider than your chest, you classify as a Pear/Triangle. If they are equal but your waist is narrow, you are an Hourglass.
4. Why does the calculator need my wrist size?
Wrist circumference is the most reliable proxy for determining your overall skeletal frame size. Because there is very little fat or muscle carried on the wrist, it gives us a direct measurement of your bone thickness.
5. Are the body shapes different for Men and Women?
Yes. Our calculator uses separate geometric logic for each gender. While women are often categorized into Hourglass or Pear shapes, men’s typical shapes are categorized as Trapezoid (the athletic ideal), Oval (Apple), Inverted Triangle, or Rectangle.
